Who is this course for?

Aspiring and practising DPOs, privacy managers, compliance professionals and advisers with prior GDPR knowledge. Before starting, you should already recognise personal data, the principles, lawful bases and basic individual rights; complete foundational GDPR training first if these are unfamiliar.

What you will learn

  • Determine scope, roles and legal conditions for a processing activity and explain UK/EU differences.
  • Operate defensible transparency, rights and complaints processes with accurate timing and evidence.
  • Assess DPO appointment and create a mandate that protects independence and addresses conflicts.
  • Build and validate a compliance baseline, processing records and data-flow maps.
  • Turn retention, policy, awareness and advice into workable operational controls.
  • Assess processor arrangements, suppliers and jurisdiction-appropriate international transfers.
  • Evaluate risk to people, advise on DPIAs and identify launch and prior-consultation requirements.
  • Apply privacy by design, security, anonymisation and responsible-AI safeguards.
  • Coordinate immediate incident reporting and reasoned breach-notification decisions.
  • Plan risk-based monitoring, audits, corrective action and useful management reporting.
  • Connect GDPR accountability to relevant ISMS and PIMS evidence without overstating assurance.
  • Evaluate practical DPO cases, prioritise a ninety-day improvement plan and explain professional recommendations.
